Vision

Vision

Collaboration sits at the heart of my artistic practice. I believe that when multiple minds come together, the creative potential multiplies. I draw immense energy and inspiration from the ideas and visions of others and thrive in environments where I can engage in creative exchange. This collaborative ethos also informs my teaching practice, where I prioritise creating safe, inclusive spaces where students feel heard, supported, and empowered to express their needs.

Even within structured settings or tight curriculum constraints, I find opportunities to adapt how I deliver content, ensuring my teaching remains responsive to the individual needs of my students. I view teaching not as a one-way transmission of knowledge, but as a dynamic, evolving exchange.

My evolving practice is also shaped by my engagement with place. While studying at the VCA, I had theprivilege of participating in a creative and cultural exchange in the Cook Islands through the New Colombo Plan Mobility Grant. Performing at the Punanga Nui Market in Avarua offered a cultural and sensory experience that shifted how I move, feel, and create, sparking a desire to continue travelling and letting landscapes guide my movement. This way of working is holistic, it’s not just about seeing new environments, but fully experiencing them, through meeting people, building connections, and letting those encounters feed the creative process.

In my creative work, I strive for innovation and authenticity. While I am deeply inspired by the work of others, I filter these influences through my own lens, ensuring that what I create feels original and adds a unique voice to what’s already there. I also intend to honour the history and lineage of dance, viewing the body as a vessel that holds not just personal experience, but inherited knowledges, techniques, and influences that move through us.
